Long time no blog!

Well thats not true, I started up a new blog but I can't remember my username or login. I've tried everything I can think of that I might've used but to no avail. Sigh. Anyway, Jack is just about to turn 9 months old!! He's just popped out another tooth, this one on top. He's cruising around his crib and pack and play but not much else. He walks around if he has our fingers to hold on to, but hasn't crawled.

He's eating lots of different foods, Veggies and fruits mostly. I zizzed up some spaghetti the other night and he ate a few bites. He likes turkey, we've gotten sliced turkey for him to eat and he loves it. He also like Corn dogs!! Something I didn't crave but drooled at the mention of and loved to eat when I was pregnant.

The newest bit of news for us is that we are moving!! Sad to say the glow of our wonderful apartment has unfortunately faded in our estimation. The complex began renovations this past fall, the buildings on the hill below ours had their siding torn off and plastic draped from roof to ground. This wasn't much of a problem and we were excited about the changes they were planning on making. Sadly, the group hired to work on our building didn't have permits to do half the work they ended up doing.

They tore off all the siding, tore up our balcony and patio (the patio is a real shame cause it's gonna be hard moving our stuff out the front steps, narrow stairs awkward angles...) and even though we had no notice, they tore out our windows and replaced them, except one which was left as a great big gaping hole on one of the colder nights.

The plastic draped from our roof to the ground blocks out our beautiful view of Lake Washington, when they replaced most of the windows they put up more plastic to keep the spread of dust to a minimum (didn't work) which made our normally bright apartment dark and moody. The replaced windows weren't insulated or caulked until about a week later so it was pretty drafty in here. There was drywall dust all over everything, still is to be honest it's hard to clean up.

The window in our bedroom was the first to be done...without notice, while no one was home. Actually I came home just as they were attempting to put the new window in. They hadn't put plastic up to keep dust from going anywhere either :( it was a very upsetting scene to walk into. I wouldn't have minded had I known they would be doing it. But I didn't know where Harriet or Scamp were and it's upsetting to find strange men right outside a big hole in your bedroom where there had once been a window!!

So after all of that, things settled down a bit, we had a bit of rainy weather. What rain in Seattle? Jacks room developed a lovely indoor waterfall, this on a Saturday night. His window is right over the heater in his room, so water was cascading down into the heater (electric) and carpet. We put a towel on the sill and some foil over the heater and called the emergency maintenence people to come fix it. They came to fix it on monday, thankfully there wasn't any rain on sunday!!

So becuase of all the problems we've had as well as most of our neighbors, they fired that group of workers. Construction was stopped for a time and things needed to be worked out with the city, construction company and the Rental owners.

We had been excited about moving into one of the newly renovated apartments, the model looks great!! Because of all the troubles with the construction, it seems like they're going to be working on this complex for quite a while. Also they are bumping rent up way to high for our budget right now....So we found a new place which is even nicer in many ways than this place was when we first moved in.

We still have a view of the lake though it's much farther away. It's a little smaller but it's newer. Anyway, we'll be moving in to that place over the next few days. I'll blog again when we get settled there.

I tried posting some pictures of it but our camera is messed up :( oh well next time maybe
