The Adventures of Mr Tubbylove

Mr Tubbylove was minding his business one day when there was a knock at Mama Manda's door. She was surprised by the early knock and jumped out of bed to run to the door. "Who is it?" Mr Tubbylove heard Mama Manda say. "Maintenance" was the answer.

Mama Manda asked "could you come back in an hour?" as she was not yet dressed. "Well ma'am there's a leak from your place into the apartment below, and the ceiling has caved in," explained the maintenance man.

Mr Tubbylove picked up Mama Manda's psychic thought "Oh Shit!"
Then heard her say "Ok give me just a minute!!!"

Mr Tubbylove then sat and watched as Mama Manda ran around trying to find clothes. The maintenance men said "Oh we've got another emergency we'll be right back!" So Mama Manda finished getting dressed and took out Sister Harriet for her morning stroll.

When they came back from their stroll, Mama Manda put Sister Harriet in the bedroom and gave her her breakfast. Mr Tubbylove wondered why, Sister Harriet had been a good girl as far as he could tell.

Later, the maintenance men came back and took over Mr. Tubbylove's favorite place in the apartment, the bathtub. Mr Tubbylove had to supervise these so called "maintenance men" while they did horrible things to his beloved Tub. He saw as they took out the silver thing with the tab that he used to rest his paw on while he gets drinks from the slowly dripping other silver thing.

Then the men left and went into the Kitchen. Mr. Tubbylove had to follow to see what they could possibly be doing in the kitchen, after they tore up his lovely tub. He watched as they moved the big white Holder of Milk. Then watched as they cut a hole in the wall behind it.

Mr Tubbylove gave himself a bath and came and sat on Mama Mandas' lap for a while, those maintenance men got boring. All of a sudden they both got up and left!! "Time to investigate" thought Mr Tubbylove and he leapt off Mama Manda's lap. When he got back to the kitchen he found the Holder of Milk to be back in place, then he went to check on his beloved tub. "Still a mess" he thought and disgustedly left to get something to eat.

The Men came back and moved the Holder of Milk again and started banging and crashing which scared Mr Tubbylove and he found comfort once again on Mama Manda's lap, where he purred and fell asleep.
But when the Men went back to the bathroom he got up to see if they were fixing what they'd done to his tub.

That was the last time Mama Manda saw Mr Tubbylove for a while. She figured he found a darker quiet place to sleep. Then the maintenance men started leaving for lunch, and Mama Manda couldn't find Mr Tubbylove anywhere. He wouldn't come when she called, and she couldn't find him in any of his usual hiding places.

Mama Manda and Papa Travis started searching for him all over. Then they went outside and called him over and over. Then Papa Travis sadly had to leave to go to class so Mama Manda went back inside and called for Mr Tubbylove again.

This time she heard him calling back. "Meow meeeeooowww" Mr Tubbylove said. He was so scared!!! "I hear you Mr Tubbylove," said Mama Manda, "I'll go see if I can get you from the downstairs neighbor, ok?"
"meow!" Was all Mr Tubbylove could say.

Downstairs Mama Manda asked the neighbor, "Have you seen my cat?" she paused and heard Mr Tubbylove meowing. "Can you hear him?" she asked the neighbor. He was on the phone and said "No. But I'll keep my eye out for him."

Mama Manda went back upstairs. She could still hear Mr Tubbylove meowing. She made the decision to move the fridge, it slid very easily.
Now she could see the hole in the wall and the bathtub of the apartment downstairs. She also saw the hole into the eves of the building and could hear Mr Tubbylove more clearly. Then she saw him walking around in the dim light!!!

"Hurray!!!" thought Mama Manda. "Ok Mr Tubbylove, here I am come see me!" she said. "Meow" Said Mr Tubbylove, he couldn't find a way out.
"Come on, you got in there and you can get out" Mama Manda reassured Mr Tubbylove.

"Meow" he said again, he was scared . Mama Manda said "Don't worry I'm here, come on and try." Mr Tubbylove stood up on his hind feet and looked to see where he could jump up. The second place had something he could pull himself up with so he did!!!

"Yea!! Mr Tubbylove you're safe!!! But oh goodness your feet are all dusty!!" exclaimed Mama Manda.

Mr Tubbylove looked back from where he came from, it was dark and smelled weird. Brother Scamper came over to make sure Mr Tubbylove was ok and then had to investigate the site himself. Mama Manda was too quick though and scooped up both cats. She took them to the bedroom where a lonely Sister Harriet had been wondering what she had done to deserve this punishment. She looked up as Mama Manda with Mr Tubbylove and Brother Scamper tucked under her arms, entered the room.

Now they were all together and Sister Harriet couldn't be happier!! Mr Tubbylove wanted to go back to the hole in the wall behind the Holder of Milk and explore some more. He knew now that Mama Manda would save him if he got lost in there again.

To keep her much loved pets safe, Mama Manda left them all in the bedroom and went to the kitchen to make herself some lunch. "What a busy day" Mama Manda thought, as she sat down with her sandwich and large glass of cold yummy Milk!!
